VAMPIRES & VELVET: THE ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN BIRTHDAY AT THE CRUZ BUILDING / by Eric Monteiro

In the heart of Coconut Grove, Miami, the Cruz Building served as the quintessential canvas for a Halloween soirée that was nothing short of spectacular. As the calendar marked the confluence of All Hallows' Eve and a birthday celebration, this architectural gem became an enchanting playground for the supernatural and the chic.

Like a vision from a gothic novel, the venue’s ornate facade offered a prelude to the otherworldly evening ahead. The building’s soaring atrium ceilings and stained-glass windows were adorned with a gothic flair. Guests in imaginative costumes ascended the majestic marble staircases, while the venue’s European and French/New Orleans architectural antiques whispered tales of another era.

The romantic interior balconies and sweeping outdoor terraces, illuminated by gas flame lanterns and glistening crystal chandeliers, offered an opulent viewpoint to the night’s revelries. The luxury catering was an integral part of the evening's mystique, presenting a custom menu that started with the appropriately named "Vampire Mezzo," a symphony of beet tartare, baked Brie, Tzatziki, bresaola, black Grisini, and crackers. For the main course, a choice between Black Risotto with Scallops and Chocolate Short Ribs showcased an effortless blending of the gourmet with the thematic to elevate the evening, all you would expect from an experience of luxury catering in Miami.
